Castile and Leon

The Autonomy statute of Castile and Lion includes the creation of the Commission for Cooperation between the Community of Castile and Leon and the State, as a permanent framework for general cooperation between both parties, in accordance with current legislation, without prejudice to the functions attributed to other bodies of a bilateral or multilateral nature.

It is made up of an equal number of representatives from both parties and performs functions of information, coordination, planning and collaboration, in relation to the exercise of the respective competences; deliberation and proposal on the preparation of State legislative projects that have a singular effect on Castile and Leon; prevention and extraprocedural resolution of conflicts of competence and any others that promote cooperation between the two parties.

The Cooperation Commission was constituted on 10 July 2008.

At the second meeting held on November 24, 2010, the Rules of Organization and Functioning of the Commission for Cooperation between the Community of Castile and Leon and the State, which creates four Permanent Subcommittees, were approved:

  • Subcommittee on Regulatory Monitoring, Prevention and Conflict Resolution
  • Infrastructure Subcommittee
  • Statutory Development Subcommittee
  • Subcommittee on European Affairs and External Action
